Ten Plus One Ways To Have A Positive Day - Every Day

 ©2007 Pamela Tyree Griffin

 1.        It has been said that it’s not what happens to us, it’s how we deal with it. Perspective is key to keeping yourself in a positive frame of mind. Whatever happens, reflect upon some aspect that is positive.

2.         Expect the best no matter what. This, at first, is not an easy thing to do. After all we are living in times when we can’t seem to get ahead, or we have problems galore. It’s therefore easier to expect the worst so you can’t be disappointed. And when you think this way you are SELDOM disappointed. The same holds true when you expect the best.

3.         Banish fear and worry. Both of these things will control you if you don’t control them.

4.         If you must worry, limit yourself to a set period of time when you will worry and when that’s done let it go. Worry can paralyze you so that you can become immobile.

5.         Appreciate the good things you have. Think about how abundantly you are blessed. The more you focus on these things, the more of them you will have. Job getting you down? Some people don’t even have a job. Same goes for shoes, a computer, ability to read, family and on and on it goes.

6.         Visualize your day before you begin it. Before you get up, begin to think about what you will accomplish that day. SEE yourself successfully completing your tasks. Even if you get only one thing done, applaud yourself-that’s one less thing you’ll have to deal with tomorrow.

7.         Season your life with something new. Is there something you’ve wanted to do but have been putting off? It doesn’t have to be anything big. It can as simple as changing your route to the store. Go ahead and try it believing you’ll enjoy it. Variety is the spice of life after all.

8.         Praise and support others. Everyone needs to hear that they are special or that what they have accomplished is meaningful. Tell someone how special they are. Go ahead-make someone’s day. As long as you are sincere, it will make you feel delightful.

9.         Don’t be so hard on yourself.

10. Make sure you live a life of quality and not quantity. It’s not about money it’s about character.
